Head Coach: Ian Denny

Ian joins us with 30 years of senior football experience both as a player and a coach. In his 15 years of coaching he has lead his team to a finals campaign 10 times. With a team first mentality and a passion for developing footballers, we are very keen to have Ian involved after pursuing his services back when the club were located in St Albans, we knew he was something special then and we still see him in said light to this day. The club are excited to finally have him in the Spurs blue for the 2020 season.

Assistant Coach: Tina Macumber

A Spur through and through, Tina 'Bobby' Macumber has been involved in the club since 1999 when she made her playing debut at 17 years old. She played a total of 13 seasons at the club and represented Victoria. Bobby is a member of the VWFL Team of the Decade (2000-2010) but more recently has taken on a Backline Coaching role with the VAFA Women’s Representative Team and was the Western Bulldogs VFLW Development Coach in 2018. We are excited to see what Bobby can bring to our Division 1 team in 2020.

Assistant Coach: Tara Morgan
A former AFLW player for the Collingwood Magpies and our 2019 Premiership Co-captain at the Spurs, Tara needs little introduction. Tara will be assisting the NFNL Division 1 Coaching team whilst continuing her playing commitments for the club.

Head Coach: Ashlea Block

Ashlea, better known as Blocky, has retired from playing after a successful 50+ game career in the Spurs blue. After tasting Premiership glory in 2019 as a player she is looking forward to working alongside Browny in a new league and a new challenge for not just herself but the club as well.

Assistant Coach: Russell Brown

Rusell will be our Premier Division assistant coach in 2020. Browny was eager to join the Spurs after watching our success in 2018 and went on to become a Premiership winning Assistant Coach in his first season at the Spurs with the NFNL Division 2 side. We are looking forward to having him be a part of our journey as we venture into a new league.

Assistant Coach: Kym Gillam-Downey

Kym is a Division 1 Premiership winning player who is keen to dive into the life of coaching women's football. Kym has been coaching sport since the age of 18 where she was a netball coach and has also coached regional sides in schools for a number of years. Her PE teaching background for approximately 10 years will be sure to come in handy when juggling playing and assisting her good friend Ash Block in the 2020 season. Kym looks forward to working with the backline to develop their game, which is where she spends a good majority of her playing time at the Spurs.

Head Coach: Doreen Roberts

Doreen came on board as a head coach in the 2018 season whilst juggling her playing commitments. A 100+ gamer  for the Spurs, Dorz alongside some support staff took the 2018 team to their first finals campaign in Spurs NFNL Division 3 history and went one better in 2019 by making the Grand Final. Dorz will retire her playing commitments with the club and focus solely on coaching in 2020 to hopefully go one better and claim silverware for her first time as a coach.

Assistant Coach: Jay David

Jay was the teams unofficial runner in 2018 and was around the playing group for a big majority of the season. We were very excited to have him come on board officially as an assistant coach in 2019 and are looking forward to seeing him continue his development as a coach in 2020.

Head Coach: Kirsten Pocock

Kirsten, better known around Henry Turner as Red, has been involved in the club as a player for a number of seasons now and has racked up 2 Premierships at the club throughout her playing career, one of which she captained the side. After contemplating retirement in 2019 she decided to play on and claimed that second cup with the NFNL Division 2 team. Now in 2020 she is ready to take on the challenge of coaching, something she has always wanted to do. Red lives and breathes our great game. She can’t wait to give opportunities to players to not just play but develop their skills and will look to use her 10 years experience working in the Fitness industry as a Trainer to motivate and develop the team.

Assistant Coach: Tamara Cole

Tam, who has racked up over 50 games in a Spurs guernsey, spent the 2018 season away from the game but kept a keen eye watching on as a supporter and offering a hand on game days and trainings. It is great to see her now a part of our newest team at the Spurs as we expand to four sides in 2020. Tam will assist Red and is excited to be a part of developing a fresh playing group.

IN 2021

The Spurs will be creating history with our first Masters team!

The Spurs are putting together an over 35s womens team to join the Masters competition.
The masters competition is a fun and exciting way to be a part of the Spurs family whilst staying fit and socialising with other women. The minimum age to join the masters competition is 35 and all abilities are encouraged to come along!
No experience required at all and we welcome any past players to come along and play some footy for fun!
You’re never too old to start, the league has seen players up to the age of 74 participate!
There are modified tackling rules, fortnightly games and just an all round super fun environment so this could be the perfect time to pick up the footy and take the chance to be a part of the great game that is AFL.
